Description

Mt. Sinabung in North Sumatra Province has erupted again on 30 December 2013. Eruptions accompanied by ash and lava have been recorded until 14 January 2014. Area clearance has been set up within 5 - 7 km southeast of the mountain. As of 14 January, BNPB and BPBD have evacuated 26,088 people to 38 evacuation centres due to the incident. The most populated evacuation centre is located in Tiga Binanga with 2,805 people. The emergency period is set until 18 January 2014. The local authority and BPBD of North Sumatra provided assistance for the evacuees.
