Description

National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) of Indonesia reported a major flood in Mamuju Regency, West Sulawesi, on 22 March 2018 08:30 (UTC +7). The flood was caused by heavy rainfall, which caused overflow of Rimuku, Karema and Mamyunyu rivers at the same time with sea tide. The most affected areas were Simboro and Mamuju districts. BNPB reported that 1,089 families / 3,267 people were affected and 7 people injured. In addition, 1,089 houses were inundated. Mamuju regency local disaster management agency (BPBD) is leading the response with evacuation efforts and recording of affected population. BNPB released that the most urgent needs were clean water, debris removal tools, ready-to-eat meal and sanitation.
