1. OVERVIEW: An earthquake with a M7.3 at a depth of 83 Km has occurred at 177 km North West of Mentawai Islands (West Sumatra), Indonesia, as reported by BMKG on 25 April 2023, 03.00.57 am Jakarta Time.
2. According to the BMKG, a TSUNAMI WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED by BMKG. at 0517 HRS UTC+7 Tsunami Warning has been ended by BMKG
3. IMPACTS: According to BMKG, MMI VI in Siberut and Mentawai; MMI V in Pasaman Barat, Padang Pariaman, Agam, Padang; MMI III in Gunung Sitoli, Padang Panjang, Pesisir Selatan, Limapuluhkota, Solok Selatan, Solok, and Bukittinggi; and MMI II Labuhan Batu, Padang Sidempuan. According to BNPB, the M7.3 earthquake was felt in South Nias, Padang City, Mentawai Islands, West Pasaman, Padang Pariaman, Agam, and Gunung Sitoli. People panicked and ran out of their houses.
