On Monday, July 14, 2025, at 19:52:18 WIB, a tectonic earthquake occurred with an updated magnitude of 5.0. The epicenter was located at coordinates 2.01° South Latitude and 120.68° East Longitude, with the earthquake centered inland in the Southeast Pamona region, Poso, Central Sulawesi, at a depth of 14 km. This earthquake does not have the potential to trigger a tsunami.
Geological analysis based on the earthquake source parameters indicates that the earthquake was caused by fault activity with a left-lateral strike-slip fault mechanism.
