Description
The Volcanological and Geological Disaster Mitigation Centre (PVMBG) reported the explosive eruption of Lokon Mountain which recorded in September 15, at 10:53 GMT. The eruption blown the volcanic material to the sky up to 1.500 meters height and followed with magma flow from the crater. Learning from the typical characteristic of Lokon - in which after rapid increase of activity, Lokon‘ activity decreased significantly and did not cause casualties or damage - Lokon‘ status remain STANDBY status (level 3). However, BPNP issued strong recommendation to the community for not having any activity in radius of 1.5 kilometers from the crater.
