Alert Level for Ibu Volcano is escalated to Alert Level IV (highest alert level in Indonesia)
OVERVIEW: Following recent eruption of Ibu Volcano today at 0711 HRS UTC+9, PVMBG elevated the status of Ibu Volcano Alert Level to Alert Level IV. The ash column observed at ± 4,000 meters above the summit (± 5,325 meters above sea level). The ash was gray and thick, drifting west and northwest. The eruption was recorded on a seismograph with a maximum amplitude of 28 mm and lasted about 2 minutes and 11 seconds.
