Description
Gamalama, located in Province of Maluku Utara, erupted at around 04:22 GMT. On the second eruption at 05:14 GMT, it burst ashes and materials up to 1.000 meters high. Ash and dust fell and covered Ternate City resulting visibility to about 50 meters. The Provincial Disaster Management Agency (BPBD of Maluku Utara) went to the location and coordinated with the Health Office to provide masks. Communities were advised to stay at home and stay alert. The BPBD has also raised the ALERT status (level II) to STANDBY status (Level III).
