➢ Chronology: Triggered by high-intensity rainfall occurring in the upstream river areas over a prolonged period. On Wednesday, 13 May 2026, at 22:00 WITA, these conditions caused a significant increase in the water discharge of the Benuang River. The overflowing water also carried drift materials, including logs and muddy sediment, which were suspected to have originated from the mountainous and upstream areas.
