JAKARTA - A total of 184 families were affected by floods in Central Halmahera Regency on Monday (8/7) at around 08.00 local time (Eastern Indonesia Time). Inundation in four villages in the North Maluku Province was triggered by high rainfall intensity. The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Central Halmahera District reported that flooding occurred in Sumber Sari Village, Kluting Jaya, Wairoro Indah, Asri Valley in the District of South Weda. Whereas in North Weda Subdistrict, floods hit one Waleh area. Until 17.14 IWST the rain occurred with the intensity of the lace. The water level varies from 50 to 100 cm. BPBD of Central Halmahera Regency made an emergency handling effort to affected residents. Rapid assessment conducted by the BPBD Rapid Reaction Team (TRC) responds to the current conditions in the field. BPBD and its partners are involved in cleaning waterways with heavy equipment and evacuating residents belongings. BPBD reported no casualties. However, material losses are identified temporarily based on rapid assessment in the field. Losses include submerged buildings, such as 184 units of houses, SMP 2 units, SMA 1 unit, TK 1 unit, and mosque 2 units.
