Indonesia, Flood in West Nusa Tenggara (NTB)

West Nusa Tenggara Province (NTB) Local Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) reported flooding events in Dompu and Bima Regencies on 5 March 2018. Heavy rainfall in Sumbawa Island stared from 15.30 UTC+8 has increased water volume in Rabalaju River and overflow to nearby settlements. BPBD of NTB Province stated the following areas have been affected: 1) Bima Regency, Bolo District, Tambe Village. 55 people have been evacuated. 2) Dompu Regency, Dompu District (Karake, Potu and Karijawa villages) and Woja District (Simpasai, Kandai Dua and Wawonduru villages). 1,120 families have been evacuated as their houses were damaged. BPBD of NTB Province suggests that the economic loss may reach IDR 600 million. Dompu Public hospital has been inundated as well. There are no loss of life reported in this disaster. BPBD of NTB Province coordinated response and had provided relief items to affected population.
