Description

Indonesian National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) reported that heavy rainfall that coincided with tide have caused flooding in several areas of West Bangka and Central Bangka regencies, Bangka-Belitung Province, on 11 March 2018, 02.30 UTC+7. More than hundreds of houses have been affected in both regencies. In West Bangka, BNPB reported the following: 1) 104 people / 34 families affected in Sungai Daeng sub-district, 2) 2044 people / 511 families affected in Tanjung sub-district 3) 9 people / 7 families affected in Sungai Baru sub-district 4) 937 people / 350 families affected in belo Laut sub-district 5) 3 bridges, 4 roads have been cut off due to 1-2 meters of flooding. In Central Bangka, population affected were still under assessment. As of 11 March 2018, it was reported that 1 bridge was heavily damaged and 9 houses have been sub-merged.
