Description

National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) reported flood event in Pangkapinang city, Bangka Belitung province, on 27 April 2018 at around 08.30 UTC+7. The flood was caused by high intensity of rain that resulted in overflow of Nangka and Pedindang rivers. The most affected area was Rangkuy District, especially Kampung Kramat and Parit Lalang Villages. Initial estimation suggests 161 families have been affected. Around 160 houses were inundated with 50-100 cm flood water. Local Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) Pangkalpinang city has established evacuation centers, provide relief items and assess the extent of damage.
