Description

Heavy rain battered and triggered flood in Padang City, West Sumatra Province. The heavy downpour was also caused landslide, damaged trees and others. As reported by the National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB), the flood has inundated many areas in nine subdistricts i.e. Kota Padang, Padang Selatan, Padang Utara, Nanggalo, Padang Barat, Padang Timur, Lubuk Begalung, Kuranji and Bungtekab. 95 families or 285 people were reportedly evacuated. Many school were dismissed due to the inundation. As of now,the Disaster Management Authority of Padang (BPBD) and the other responding agencies still continuous providing assistance to the flood victims. The local authority also declared seven days of emergency response toward the situation.

The platform is open for public, which means that the public can submit information about any hazard and disaster to the AHA Centre. Thereafter, the AHA Centre will verify and validate any submitted information to ensure the accuracy of the data inputs. The AHA Centre can also add new information when relevant and as necessary. ADINET has been recording disaster information in the region since the AHA Centre was operational in 2012.
