Description

Flashflood occur in the city of Padang and some parts of Padang Pariaman district of West Sumatera Provinces, Indonesia. Total of 1003 houses were affected, which 190 houses were totally damaged, and 481 houses partially damaged. Two person is lightly wounded, and 3,863 persons were evacuated. Public infrastructure were also affected by this event to includes, 2 schools, 1 community health center, 15 religious places, and 11 irrigation channel. Several roads about 6 spots and 6 bridges were also affected. In certain area, the depth of water can reached between 1.5 - 2 meter. The affected areas include the following 6 sub-districts of the city of Padang: Pauh, Lubuk Begalung,Nanggalo, Lubuk Kilangan, Kuranji, Bungus Teluk Kabung, and Padang Timur. The worst area affected is in Pauh sub-districts with a total of 129 houses damaged. The total estimated damaged is about 4.4 millions US$ where 1.2 millions US$ for damage to houses and public infrastructure, 18.9 millions to roads and bridges. The governor of West Sumatera has issued an emergency response situation for 30 days. Emergency response activities has been managed by local disaster management agency, military, and other related local agencies.
