JAKARTA - A number of houses were severely damaged after the earthquake occurred on Thursday (6/20), at 12:00 a.m. WIB. BNPB noted that 33 houses were severely damaged in Sarmi District, Papua Province due to an earthquake measuring 6.3 magnitude with a depth of 10 km. Because the house was severely damaged, 33 families fled to relatives homes. Until this evening, the Sarmi District Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) rapid reaction team was still heading to the earthquake-affected location, Ismari District. Earthquakes that occur in the middle of the mini have an intensity calculated by MMI on a weak to moderate scale or II to V. The shock map shows Kotamulia, Kobakma, Karubaga areas on the MMI III, Burmeso IV, and Sarmi V. Scales felt strongly in Sarmi District with a duration of 2 to 3 seconds. People were reported in a panic situation until they left the house. Vibration is also felt but weak for 1 to 2 seconds in the city of Jayapura.
