JAKARTA - Four people died due to an earthquake with a magnitude of M 6.9 which occurred on Friday night (2/8), at 19.03 WIB. Two people died located in Lebak Regency and two others in Sukabumi District. Two people died in Lebak Regency on behalf of Rasinah (48), who died of a heart attack. Another victim, Salam (95), died of exhaustion when evacuated. Meanwhile, the victim died in Sukabumi Regency on behalf of H. Ajay (58) from Cikahuripan Village, Cisolok District and Ruyani (35) from Mekarmukti Village, Waluran District. In addition to the dead victims, the earthquake affected 4 people injured with details 1 in Sukabumi Regency and 3 others in Pandeglang Regency. The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB) recorded that to date (3/8) a total of 223 units were damaged with details of 13 heavily damaged (RB), 32 moderately damaged (RS) and the rest slightly damaged (RR). Damage to houses in West Java Province amounted to 13 RB units, 30 hospitals, 62 RR. The damage was spread in the following regencies / cities, Bogor City (1 RR unit), Cianjur Regency (6 RB, 2 RS, 13 RR), Sukabumi Regency (6 RB, 22 RS, 43 RR), Bandung Regency (2 RS), West Bandung Regency (1 RB, 1 Hospital, 4 RR) and Garut Regency (3 Hospital, 1 RR). While damage in Banten Province, damaged houses with different categories are spread in Lebak Regency (4 RB, 29 RR), Pandeglang Regency (81 RR), Serang Regency (1 Hospital, 3 RR) and Cilegon City (3 RR). Total damage to houses in this province is 2 hospitals and 116 RR. Meanwhile, damage also occurred in public facilities such as places of worship, offices and educational facilities. Damage in Pandeglang Regency included 1 RR mosque and 1 RR village office, Cilegon Regency 1 RR mosque, Sukabumi Regency 1 RR mosque, 1 Ta‘lim assembly and 1 RR boarding school. Damage to other facilities was found in Serang, namely 1 RR boarding school, and 1 milling building in RR. After the earthquake, BNPB immediately sent a Rapid Response Team (TRC) to affected locations such as South Lampung, Pandeglang, Serang, Lebak, and Sukabumi. TRC helps local governments to conduct rapid assessments and assistance to the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD). At present BNPB, BPBD, ministries / institutions, TNI, Polri and volunteers work together in the field for disaster emergency management. This morning (3/8) Head of BNPB Doni Monardo has been in Pandeglang Regency, Banten to review conditions on the ground and ensure all public services are met. Based on the monitoring of TRC, the situation and activities of normal residents. On the other hand, BPBD is assisted by relevant agencies to re-monitor in the interior. Previously the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) released an earthquake with a 6.9 M occurred at 19.03 WIB with a depth of 48 km. The position of the earthquake was 164 km southwest of Pandeglang, Banten. BMKG ended the tsunami early warning on Friday (2/8), 2.35 WIB or 2 hours 32 minutes after the earthquake. Regarding information circulating on social media such as the forecast of the time and place of an earthquake, BNPB urges residents not to be provoked by information that is not from an official government source.
