Earthquake with 6.6 magnitude with 10 km shook Poso, Central Sulawesi on 29 May 2017 at 21:35 (UTC +7). The earthquake did not generate any tsunami. Nevertheless, the shock was felt strongly in the cities near the epicentre. The BMKG also recorded at least 200 aftershocks with magnitude 5.0 and lower. The National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) reported that the earthquake has injured 25 people and damaged 348 houses and buildings in Poso district. 328 families were evacuated and stayed inside evacuation centre. The local authority reported that seven subdistricts have been affected with Lore Utara as the most damaged, with the remaining : Poso Pesisir, Poso Pesisir Utara, Lore Peore, Poso Kota, Poso Kota Utara and Lage. As of now, damage and losses assessment is still being conducted so as foods and relief goods distribution. The local authority still continuous provide assistance to the victims. The national and provincial disaster management authority also provide supports to Poso‘ authority. Seven days of emergency response period has been declared by the Poso‘ authority.
