The Tropical Storm "Nesat" (Gorio), which developed since 25 July, has intensified while moving northward with sustained wind up to 80 kph. Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected to occur in the area within the storm track. The prevailing Southwest Monsoons has been also bringing more rain to the Philippines.

Toward the situation, the government has conducted preparedness measures by monitoring the storm, issuing warning and pre-positioning stockpiles and resources. As of 27 July, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) reported that six Barangays (villages) in Bulacan Province and 37 areas in Metro Manila were flooded. The casualty number has not been confirmed as the assessment is still ongoing.

Updated on 30 July, the NDRRMC reported that the situation has triggered flood, flash flood and landslide in several provinces. A total of 1,656 families or 7,339 people were reportedly affected in National Capital Region, Regions I, III, CAR and CALABARZON. 535 people were also served inside evacuation centre. The incident has also damaged 166 houses.
