Description
According to The National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), Jakarta was surrounded by flood since 23 December afternoon due to the Ciliwung's water level significant increment. The 16 affected areas were Bidara Cina, Kampung Melayu, Cawang, Cililitan, Cibubur, Pekayon, Ulujami, Pondok Pinang, Bukit Duri, Baru, Pondok Labu, Sukabumi Selatan, Duri Kepa, dan Jelambar Baru. As of 24 December, 2,425 houses were reportedly inundated and 7,307 person were affected by the flood.
The Disaster Management Agency of Jakarta, together with BNPB established emergency post and kitchen to assist the affected communities. Relief items such as food, kitchen set, tents, blankets and other were also distributed. The emergency response was also supported by the Ministry of Public Works, Indonesian Red Cross, Military and other organization.
