On 25 December 2012, a Low Pressure Area (LPA) that has been observed on east of Nothern Mindanao, has developed into a Tropical Depression. On the next two days, it has maintained its strength and moved crossing Camotes Island, Western Visayas and Coron, Palawan causing several incidents.
Based on the NDRRMC Report No.12,the Tropical Depression Wukong or Quinta has affected 73,659 families or 372,154 persons in 60 municipalities and 6 cities in Region IV-B, V, VI, VII and VIII. The total evacuees, that served inside and outside evacuation centers, were reportedly 87 families/415 persons.
Casualties were 20 death, 3 injured and 4 missing.
Moreover, 6,439 houses were reportedly damaged (1,930 totally damaged and 4,509 partially damaged).
Coordination was established among the disaster management agencies and organization to provide assistance to the affected communities.
Cost of damage: 5.5 million USD
Cost of assistance: 153,000 USD
