Philippines, Effect of Tropical Depression BISING

The Tropical Depression BISING that entered the Philippines has caused several incidents of flashflood and landslide. Based on the NDRRMC SitRep No.03, 14 January 2013 the affected areas were:
- Region XI
Province: Compostella Valley
City: Montevista

- Region XII
Province: Sarangani, South Cotabato
City: Glan, General Santos City, Norala

- Region XIII (CARAGA)
Province: Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Sur
City: Butuan City, Adlayan, Hubang Rivers, Lanuza

This event has cause impacts as follow:
- 5,454 families or 16,801 persons affected
- 2,756 families or 7,880 persons were served inside 25 evacuation centers.

No casualties have been reported so far.
The initial cost of damages was estimated to be 36,000 USD.

The NDRRMC is still monitoring the situation and disseminating weather bulletin and advisories necessarily while continue to work closely with the other governmental agencies and non-governmental organization to conduct emergency response and provide assistance to the affected community.
