Heavy rains that hit East Kotawaringin Regency (Kotim) made a number of villages in the northern region flooded between 27 to 29 April 2020. Inundated water has a height ranging from 10 to 100 centimeters.

Areas affected include:
- Bukit Batu Village (Cempaga Hulu Sub-district)
- Tumbang Mujam Village (Tualan Hulu Sub-district) ~ 4 houses inundated, 16 affected families
- Tumbang Sangai Village and Bejarau Village (Parenggean Sub-district)
- Kuala Kuayan Village (Mentaya Hulu Sub-district)
- Tumbang Sangai Village, Tumbang Bajenai, Tumbang Boloi, Tumbang Mangkup, Luwuk Kuwan, Rantau Tampang, Rantau Katang and Tukang Langit (Telaga Antang Sub-District)
- Sebungsu Village & Tanjung Jorong Village (Luwuk Sampun Sub-district) ~ 14 families affected
In total there were fifteen villages affected in six sub-districts.

The highest flood is in Luwuk Sampun Village with a height of up to 1 meter. The cause of flooding in some of the villages is thought to be from the overflow of the Mentaya river due to heavy rains upstream.

High rainfall in the last few days also made the access road connecting between Parenggean District, Mentaya Hulu, to Antang Kalang, East Kotawaringin Regency (Kotim), suffered quite severe damage. Roads can hardly be crossed by the community. The road at Km 19 is also totally cut off. As a result, residents' activities were disrupted and transportation access was totally paralyzed.

In addition to being aware of the Covid-19 outbreak and natural disasters such as floods, the community is also advised to be on the lookout for a disease that is growing rapidly in the rainy season, namely Dengeu Hemorrhagic Fever (DHF)
