On August 29, 1818, the missions of the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control were chaired by Deputy Director General of the General Department of Disaster Prevention Vu Xuan Thanh - Deputy Chief of the Standing Office of the Central Steering Committee for PCTT. , to direct the work of overcoming the consequences of flash floods and landslides in Nam Puy district, Dien Bien province.

According to the report of Dien Bien Provincial People's Committee, heavy rains in the night of 27 and 28 August caused flash floods and landslides for 72 damaged houses (02 houses were destroyed, 02 houses had to be relocated) 133ha of rice and 50 ha of crops were flooded, buried; 49 animals were washed away; 39.95 hectares of fish ponds were washed away; 4 damaged irrigation works, 1 broken dam; 15 roads were damaged landslide (04 inter-communal roads, landslide caused traffic jam); 01 reinforced concrete bridge drifted; 10 floating stones; 1 drain was drifting.

The Provincial Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention and Control and the Provincial TKCN directs the Steering Committee for CIP and TKC of districts and communes to organize the relocation and evacuation of people and property, help the people to overcome the damage and stabilize their lives.

At the inspection and field visit, Deputy General Director Vu Xuan Thanh suggested that the province mobilize its forces to help people restore their homes, repair roads, clean the roads, clean the environment, Particularly, schools will be available to students in the new school year.
