Description
National Disaster Management Authority (BNPB) spokeperson reported initial data from flooding in Karawang Regency, West Java on 4 January 2018. At least 485 houses in one village (Dawuan village) have been inundated.
Karawang regency local disaster management agency (BPBD) updated the flooding report on 5 January 2018, i.e. flooding areas include four zones in two districts, namely Cikampek and Kotabaru districts.
In Kotabaru District, 500 houses have been inundated and 1200 persons evacuated.
In Cikampek District, 915 houses have been inundated and 2250 persons evacuated.
BPBD of Karawang regency has organized evacuation for affected population to safe mosques and have setup evacuation tents.
