At around 4:30 p.m. on September 11, 2020, a strong tornado swept through the communes of Loc Hoa, Thanh Quoi, Phu Quoi and Tuyen Hanh of Long Ho district, Vinh Long, damaging housing and fruit trees. Through the field inspection of the Office of the Fire Prevention and Rescue Command Committee of the province, and the initial statistics of the Office of the Command for Fire Prevention and Rescue in Long Ho District, the damage is recorded as follows: 1. Housing: 103 houses, of which: Total damage of over 70% is 12 units (2 houses collapsed); 30-50% heavy damage is 40 units; very heavy damage from 50-70% is 30 units; partial damage below 30% is 21 units. 2. Other houses: collapsed, speeding up 53 stalls to buy and sell fish of people in Hang Card market (Loc Hoa commune) 3. 19.5 ha of jackfruit trees and longan fell Estimated damage is 1,815 billion VND. The Office of the Provincial Command for Fire Prevention and Rescue, Long Ho District Command for Fire Prevention and Rescue, and communes coordinated with the local authorities to mobilize forces to support people in dismantling and cleaning damaged items, helping people stabilize their life; At the same time, a force was assigned to conduct statistics and initial damage assessment to report to higher levels and serve as a basis for damage support to people.
