Viet Nam, Storms, Floods, Strong Winds, and Landslides in Northern and Southern Regions

Damage caused by natural disasters on June 15-16, 2025: According to quick reports from the provinces/cities: Dien Bien, Son La, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Lang Son, Hanoi, Hau Giang, Ca Mau, heavy rain with thunderstorms, tornadoes, lightning, and landslides caused the following damage:
- Regarding people: 01 person died due to lightning (Phu Tho) and 01 person was injured (Hanoi).
- Regarding housing: 121 houses were damaged, roofs blown off (Lang Son 13, Yen Bai 108).
- Regarding agriculture and forestry: 2.99 hectares of crops were damaged (Lang Son 2.1 hectares, Yen Bai 0.89 hectares); 05 hectares of forestry trees were broken (Yen Bai).
- Regarding education: 01 school (Dien Bien) was eroded and damaged.
- Other damages: 04 landslides on inter-commune roads (Dien Bien); 04 landslides on river banks and canal banks (Hau Giang 03 points; Ca Mau 01 point).
- Heavy rain caused localized flooding in low-lying areas in Lang Son and Son La cities, causing some vehicles to be submerged. The water has now receded.
In addition, according to press information, in Tuyen Lam Lake area, Da Lat, Lam Dong, there is 01 person missing due to being swept away by water. Local authorities are reviewing and verifying the information.
