Viet Nam, Storms and Strong Winds in Son La and Tuyen Quang

According to initial reports from the Departments of Agriculture and Environment of Son La and Tuyen Quang provinces, the hailstorms and strong winds that occurred from March 22-23 caused the following damage:

- Regarding housing: 493 houses had their roofs blown off or were damaged (488 houses in Tuyen Quang; 5 houses in Son La).

- Regarding agriculture: 0.25 hectares of rice were damaged (Tuyen Quang); 1,169.19 hectares of crops and fruit trees were damaged (Tuyen Quang 246.69 ha; Son La 922.5 ha); 25.65 hectares of forestry trees were damaged (Tuyen Quang).

- Regarding other damage: 7 schools, 2 health stations, 3 cultural centers had their roofs blown off, and 1 pedestrian bridge was damaged (Tuyen Quang).

Immediately after the natural disaster occurred, local authorities mobilized forces to assist people in overcoming the consequences, quickly stabilizing their lives, and continuing to review, compile, and assess the damage.
