Description

According to the Quick Report of the provinces: Thai Nguyen, Ha Giang, Phu Tho, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, heavy rain has caused some initial damage as of 06:00 on June 22, 2025 as follows:

- Regarding people: 01 person died due to landslide into the house (Ms. Be Thi Cat, born in 1976, residing in Ba Be district, Bac Kan province); 01 person was injured (Thai Nguyen).

- Regarding housing: 424 houses were flooded (Thai Nguyen: 294 houses, Bac Kan: 44 houses; Tuyen Quang: 16 houses, Phu Tho: 70 houses); 258 houses were slightly damaged by small landslides (Bac Kan: 192 houses; Phu Tho: 50 houses; Lao Cai: 16 houses). Currently, the water in Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, and Phu Tho has receded. Thai Nguyen has evacuated 265 households (63 have returned home), while 202 households along the Cau River that are still flooded still have to be evacuated.

- Regarding agriculture: 359 hectares of rice and mixed crops were flooded and damaged (Bac Kan: 258 hectares; Thai Nguyen: 86 hectares, Ha Giang: 12 hectares; Lao Cai: 2.4 hectares); 23,681 livestock and poultry died or were swept away (Thai Nguyen: 23,300; Bac Kan: 381).

- Regarding Aquaculture: 32 hectares affected (Bac Kan).

- Regarding traffic: Some locations on National Highway 279 were eroded (Bac Kan) and 53 locations of intra-provincial roads were eroded with a volume of 6,612m3 ( Thai Nguyen: 09; Bac Kan: 30; Tuyen Quang: 5; Ha Giang: 3; Lao Cai: 6). Currently, the eroded locations have been cleared.

- Other damages: 02 pumping stations were flooded (Thai Nguyen); 01 small dam was damaged (Lao Cai); 03 electric poles were broken (Thai Nguyen: 01; Bac Kan: 02); 250m of fence collapsed (Bac Kan).
Update as of 23 June:
Damage caused by heavy rain: According to the Quick Report of the provinces: Ha Giang, Lao Cai, Yen Bai, Phu Tho, Bac Kan, Tuyen Quang, Thai Nguyen, Lang Son and Bac Giang, heavy rain caused the following damage:
- Regarding people: 02 people died (Bac Kan 01; Bac Giang 01); 03 people were injured (Thai Nguyen 01; Lang Son 02).
- Regarding housing: 112 houses were damaged, roofs blown off (Ha Giang 01; Lao Cai 01; Lang Son 110); 404 houses were flooded (Thai Nguyen 265 houses, Bac Kan: 49 houses; Tuyen Quang: 20 houses, Phu Tho: 70 houses). Currently, the water has receded, and there are no more flooded houses.
- Evacuation: 265/265 evacuated households in Thai Nguyen have returned home.
- Regarding agriculture: 2,621 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and damaged (Bac Kan 494 hectares; Ha Giang 12 hectares; Thai Nguyen 438.9 hectares; Tuyen Quang 1.2 hectares; Lao Cai 2.4 hectares; Bac Giang 1,555.3 hectares; Lang Son 231 hectares). Currently, rice and crops in Bac Kan, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, and Lao Cai are no longer flooded; Lang Son, Bac Giang, and Thai Nguyen provinces continue to drain water and review and make statistics.
- Regarding livestock and aquaculture: 64 cattle, 75,427 poultry died and 51.6 hectares of aquaculture were damaged.
- Regarding traffic: Some locations on the National Highway were eroded and 121 locations on provincial roads were eroded with a volume of 8,942m3 . Currently, the eroded locations have been cleared.
