According to the information from the provinces of Son La, Tuyen Quang, Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, Hanoi, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, heavy rain after typhoon No. 11, floods caused initial damage as follows:
- Regarding people: 15 people died, missing (an increase of 02 deaths in Thai Nguyen, 01 person due to landslides and 01 person swept away by floods; the locality is currently continuing to verify and clarify the information.

Specifically: Thai Nguyen: 05 people died, 02 people missing due to floods, 01 person died due to landslides; Cao Bang: 01 person died due to landslides; Thanh Hoa: 02 people died due to landslides, 01 person missing due to floods; Bac Ninh: 02 people missing due to floods, 01 person died due to lightning strikes) and 07 people injured.

- Housing: 222,856 houses were flooded (of which Thai Nguyen 200,000 houses; Bac Ninh 11,061 houses; Cao Bang 7,290 houses; Lang Son 3,000 houses, Hanoi 1,055 houses; Tuyen Quang 332 houses...); 711 houses were damaged or severely damaged. There are currently about 83,738 houses flooded (Thai Nguyen: about 70,135 houses (some communes and wards have not updated the situation) in the old Thai Nguyen city area, the old Phu Binh district, the old Pho Yen city,...; Bac Ninh: 11,061 houses in the riverside area, outside the main dike of Cau river, Thuong river in the old Tan Yen, Lang Giang, Yen The, Hiep Hoa districts,...; Cao Bang: 42 houses in Co Ba commune; Lang Son: 2,500 houses in the old Huu Lung district area;...)

- Regarding agriculture: Over 22,951 hectares of rice and crops were flooded and damaged; 2,288 livestock, 357,235 poultry were killed and swept away.
- Regarding traffic: Trains on the Hanoi - Dong Dang railway line were stopped; many national highways, provincial roads, and rural traffic routes were deeply flooded, cut off, causing traffic jams.
- Power restoration status: Power has been restored to 329,226 customers, and 217,062 customers who lost power are still being restored (Thai Nguyen 114,979, Lang Son 31,839, Cao Bang 6,732, Bac Ninh 63,512).
- Telecommunications: the dedicated data transmission network level 2 (from province to commune) lost connection due to power outage 107/513; the public network 488/2,353 BTS stations lost contact in Thai Nguyen; communication still ensures the direction of local authorities at commune level but the quality is not as good as usual.
Currently, localities are continuing to review and evacuate households in flooded and landslide areas to safe places and summarize the damage situation./.

TC MATMO (Viet Nam local name Storm No. 11)



1. Damage caused by rain, floods, thunderstorms and lightning after storm No. 11



According to quick reports from the provinces of Son La, Lang Son, Dien Bien, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh, heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning after storm No. 11 caused the following damage:



- Regarding people: 02 people died due to lightning strikes in Pu Nhung commune, Dien Bien province (Mr. Giang A Sinh, born in 1973 and Mrs. Sung Thi De, born in 1975).



- Regarding housing: 50 houses were flooded in Thao Nguyen ward, Son La province (water has now receded); 15 households in high-risk landslide areas in Lang Son province were evacuated to safety.



- Regarding agriculture: 18.55 hectares of rice were flooded and damaged (Son La 9.35 hectares; Dien Bien 9.2 hectares); 06 cattle died (Son La); 1.5 hectares of fish ponds were damaged (Son La).



- Regarding health and education: 05 schools, 01 hospital, Son La province were flooded (water has now receded).



- About traffic:



+ Son La Province: 77 locations on National Highways and 326 locations on provincial roads and rural roads were eroded, deposited, and damaged with a volume of 41,060m3 of earth and rock; 03 locations were flooded, 01 bridge was damaged; 07 locations on National Highways 279D and 43 were eroded, flooded, causing traffic jams (now open to traffic).



+ Lang Son Province: 09 provincial road traffic points were eroded and blocked, and some bridges, tunnels and roads were partially flooded (now open to traffic).



+ Dien Bien Province: 02 roads in Pu Nhung commune collapsed and were blocked with a volume of about 50,000m3 of earth and rock.



- About flooding:



+ Lang Son province: 15 households in high-risk landslide areas have been evacuated to safety.



+ Thai Nguyen province: flooded communes of Nam Hoa, Vo Nhai, Dan Tien; the locality has evacuated 176 households.



+ Bac Ninh province: flooded communes of Tay Yen Tu, Tuan Dao, Son Dong, Van Ha, Thuong Lat, Hop Thinh; the locality has evacuated 2,285 households.



Currently, localities are continuing to review and evacuate households in flooded and landslide-affected areas to safety and summarize the damage situation.
