Nghe An Province: According to the quick report No. 97 / BC.VP-PCTT dated October 17, 2019 of the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Fire Prevention and Fighting, Nghe An province, the situation of damage due to heavy rain as of 16:00 on October 17 is as follows : - About people: 03 deaths, an increase of 02 compared to the quick report on October 16 (Mr. Uong Van Son, born in 1966, Duc Tho hamlet, Hung Dung ward, Vinh city, drowned; grandson Nguyen Duc Sang , born in 2017, Phuong Hoang hamlet, Thanh Lam commune, Thanh Chuong district, fell into a drowning canal); 05 people were injured (Hung Nguyen district). - Housing and agriculture: 05 houses collapsed, collapsed; 600 houses (in Hung Nguyen district) and 1,313 ha of crops are still inundated. - Regarding fisheries, husbandry: 1,790 ha of ponds and lakes for aquaculture have been flooded and damaged; 23,190 birds and 02 cattle died, washed away. - Regarding traffic: 01 position on Highway 48E flooded 0.5m deep; 05 locations on the DT.539B route have landslides; 22.45 km of rural roads and 4.0 km of coastal defense roads have been eroded and damaged. - Other constructions: 0.6 km of sea embankment, 6.0 km of canals, 02 spillways damaged by landslides. UPDATE Nghe An Province: According to the quick report No. 98 / BC.VP-PCTT dated October 18, 2019 of the Standing Office of the Provincial Steering Committee for Fire Prevention and Fighting, Nghe An province, the situation of damage caused by heavy rainfall until 17:00 on October 18 is as follows: : - At present, there are still 1,487.1 hectares of crops still inundated. - Regarding people: 04 people dead; 05 people were injured. - Housing and agriculture: 05 houses collapsed, collapsed; - Regarding aquaculture, husbandry: 2,022.3 ha of ponds and lakes for aquaculture have been flooded and damaged; 23,190 poultry and 02 cattle died. - Regarding traffic: 05 locations on the DT.539B route have been lost with taluy; 22.45 km of rural roads and 4.0 km of coastal defense roads have been eroded and damaged. - Other constructions: 0.6 km of sea embankment; 6.0km of canal; 02 overflow landslides damaged. Immediately after the disaster, local authorities mobilized local forces to help people overcome the consequences.
