According to a quick report of the Commanding Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue of Lao Cai province, due to the influence of the high wind convergence area, it rained on the night of August 6 and morning, August 7, 2023. Flooding caused landslides, collapsed houses, killing one person, a grandson of VTB (born in 2018) living in Gia Phu commune, Bao Thang district.
Flooding also affected 104 houses (103 houses in Lao Cai city, 1 house in Bao Thang district), of which 9 houses were landslided behind, 94 houses were flooded locally, 1 house was struck by lightning. damage electrical lines and electronics in the house.
