Description

The flooding in Uthai Thani was triggered by heavy rain over the last two week and water discharge from the upstream in Nakhon Sawan Province. The situation has created inundation in several areas in Uthai Thani where at least 20 homes and more than 4,000 rai (64 ha) of paddy field were inundated. Several houses were also remain inundated in Nong Phai Ban and Nern Jang sub-districts. A bridge was reportedly damaged by strong currents in Wang Yang Canal in Thap Tan District. In coping the situation, the local authority provided assistance to the victims and was supported by the Royal Irrigation Department to manage the water discharge in the Wang Romklao Dam in order to avoid further flooding.
