Due to a westerly wind current from Myanmar moving over northern Thailand, coupled with another moderate high-pressure area or cold air mass from China moving over
northeastern Thailand, eastern Thailand, and the South China Sea, while upper Thailand experienced hot weather, between March 10-11, 2026, a summer storm occurred in 3 provinces (Lampang, Chiang Mai, Mae Hong Son), 6 districts, 11 subdistricts, and 38 villages.
Initially, 198 houses were damaged, with no injuries or fatalities. The details are as follows:
1) Lampang Province: On March 11, 2026, at 4:00 PM, a windstorm occurred in 1 district, 2 subdistricts, and 3 villages, namely Mae Suk Subdistrict, and Jae Hom Subdistrict, Jae Hom District. Initially, 9 houses were damaged, with no injuries nor fatalities. The Lampang Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, district officials, police officers, local administrative organizations, volunteers, disaster relief volunteers, and foundation volunteers, along with related agencies, have surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance.
2) Chiang Mai Province, on March 10-11, 2026, a windstorm with hailstones occurred in 4 districts, 8 sub-districts, and 31 villages, including: Bo Sali Subdistrict, Hod District; Ban Luang Subdistrict, Chom Thong District; Yang Kram Subdistrict, Song Khwae Subdistrict, Santi Suk Subdistrict, Doi Lo Subdistrict, Doi Lo District; Mae Suek Subdistrict;
Mae Na Chon Subdistrict, Mae Chaem District. Initially, this resulted in damage to 99 houses. There were no injuries nor fatalities. The Chiang Mai Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, district officials, police officers, local administrative organizations, volunteers, disaster relief volunteers, and foundation volunteers,
along with relevant agencies, have surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance.
3) Mae Hong Son Province, March 10, 2026, at 6:30 PM, a windstorm occurred in 1 district, 1 sub-district, and 4 villages, namely Ban Kat Sub-district,
Mae Sariang District. Initially, it resulted in damage to 90 houses. There were no injuries nor fatalities. The Mae Hong Son Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, district officials, police officers, local administrative organizations, volunteers, disaster relief volunteers, and foundation volunteers, along with relevant agencies, have surveyed the damage and provided initial assistance.
