Description

Flooding has been reported in two provinces—Chiang Mai and Udon Thani—affecting two districts, two sub-districts, and four villages. Approximately 200 households (around 800 individuals) have been impacted. The situation in each area is summarized below:

Chiang Mai Province

On July 15, at approximately 7:40 p.m., heavy rainfall led to flash flooding in Chiang Dao District. Preliminary assessments indicate that around 200 households (800 individuals) have been affected. No injuries or fatalities have been reported.

Emergency response teams, including the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, local administrative organizations, military units, police, volunteers, and other relevant agencies, have been mobilized to provide assistance. The water level in the area has since receded.

Udon Thani Province

At approximately 5:00 p.m. on July 15, severe rainfall caused flooding in parts of Udon Thani Municipality, Mueang District. This resulted in water accumulation on road surfaces and, tragically, two fatalities (one male, one female) due to electric shock.

Response efforts have been coordinated by the Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, district authorities, police, local military units, volunteers, and related agencies.

Authorities continue to monitor both areas closely and are working to provide ongoing support and recovery assistance to affected communities.

The ASEAN Disaster Information Network (ADINet) is a repository of information concerning hazards and disasters that have happened in the region. The platform is open for public, which means that the public can submit information about any hazard and disaster to the AHA Centre. Thereafter, the AHA Centre will verify and validate any submitted information to ensure the accuracy of the data inputs. The AHA Centre can also add new information when relevant and as necessary. ADINet has been recording disaster information in the region since the AHA Centre was operational in 2012.
