Description

Chiang Mai Province: On August 8, 2024, continuous rainfall caused the Mae Wa Stream to overflow its banks, flooding areas across two districts (Phrao and Wiang Haeng), four sub-districts, and four villages. Ninety-nine households were affected; there were no injuries or fatalities. The Chiang Mai Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office (Chiang Dao Branch), district authorities, police, local administrative organizations, volunteers, Civil Defense Volunteers (OrPorPor), and foundations—along with relevant agencies—provided assistance by moving belongings to higher ground and accelerating water drainage from the area. Water levels have since receded.
