Thailand is facing a wet weekend, with rain forecast in most parts of the country. The Meteorological Department said on Friday the outlook is for rain, sometimes very heavy, in some areas of all regions throughout the weekend and into Monday, when it will ease off. There‘ more than a 50% chance of rain wherever you live in Bangkok and vicinity. Some provinces were battered by summer storms on Thursday brought by unpredictable weather conditions. Muang district in Khon Kaen was one of the hardest hit. Strong winds followed by heavy rainfall in the municipality brought down 10 electricity poles, damaging some houses and leaving more than 400 households in the dark at Ban Nong Yai. Gusty winds in Chiang Rai also dropped eight electricity poles in Muang district and damaged two vehicles. In Nakhon Sawan, a downpour and strong winds ravaged Muang district for more than two hours, causing damage to 15 houses at Ban Nong Rong, one of the storm centres. No injuries were reported in the three provinces, the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Department said
