Description
Meteorological Service of Singapore reported a record wind of 133.3 kph in Tengah on 30 March 2018. It was the strongest wind gust recorded in Singapore since 2010. Rain was heaviest over the western parts of the island around Jurong and Choa Chu Kang. The strong wind caused damage to several farms in Lim Chu Kang.Damage includes broken water pipes and electric cables, cutting off the farm‘ water filtration system. The automated system supplies fresh water from a larger reserve pond to the farm‘ fish and frog ponds. Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry and National Development ensure that The Government will support the cleanup and rebuilding efforts of Lim Chu Kang farmers whose premises were damaged.
