Description

Issued on 02 January 2026 at around 4:00 AM, cloudy skies with scattered rains and
isolated thunderstorms may have brought possible flash floods or landslides due to
moderate to at times caused by Shear Line in Western Visayas.
On the same day at around 6:00 AM, light to moderate rains were experienced in
Panay and Roxas City, Capiz due to Shear Line causing flooding and landslide
incidents in low-lying and coastal areas. Heavy rain showers and thunderstorms
affected several areas in the Municipality of Nabas, Aklan causing flooding and
landslides in several barangays.
On 03 January 2026 at around 11:00 PM, rising sea level due to high tide and heavy
rains brought by Shear Line resulted in flooding in multiple municipalities in the
Province of Aklan.
In response, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through
its Field Office (FO) VI, in coordination with the affected Local Government Units
(LGUs), immediately provided relief assistance to address the needs of the affected
families and individuals.
