Description

Issued on 21 December 2025 at 4:00 PM, cloudy skies with scattered rains and
thunderstorms brought by the Easterlies may have caused possible flash floods or
landslides due to moderate to at times heavy rains to Visayas, MIMAROPA, Bicol
Region, Dinagat Islands, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, Davao Oriental, Metro
Manila and the rest of the countries.
On the same day, several municipalities in the Province of Aklan, experienced
continuous and heavy rainfall, resulting in serious flooding, particularly in low-lying
and flood-prone areas.
On 23 December 2025, the municipality of Pio Duran in Albay, also experienced
heavy rain showers brought by Easterlies. This triggered sudden rising waters in
low-lying areas resulting in local flooding impacts. Aside from the affected families,
there is also one casualty recorded due to drowning.
In response, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), through
its Field Offices V and VI together with the Local Government Unit (LGUs) of Albay
