Philippines, Flooding and Storms in BARMM (Effects of Southwest Monsoon, ITCZ, and LPA)

From 18 June to 09 July 2024, flooding incidents occurred in the provinces of
Maguindanao del Sur, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, and Maguindanao del Norte due to
thunderstorms and heavy rains caused by the Southwest Monsoon, ITCZ, LPA,
Easterlies, and Wind Convergence.

SYNOPSIS: Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) affecting Mindanao.
FORECAST: Zamboanga Peninsula, Basilan, Sulu, and Tawi-Tawi will have cloudy skies
with scattered rainshowers and thunderstorms due to ITCZ. The rest of Mindanao will
have partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rainshowers or thunderstorms due to
ITCZ. Light to moderate winds from southwest to southeast with slight to moderate seas.
