Description

Having battered by heavy rains since May, the tributaries of Mindanao River Basin were overflowed which resulted to major flooding in Maguindanao Province. Based on the report of The National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDDRMC), as of 13 June, the incident has affected a total of 60,538 families or 302,337 people in 21 municipalities. Three houses were reportedly damaged by the inundation and 29 schools were suspended. The cost of damaged is nearly 60 million Pesos (USD 1.2 million). The provincial and local government has been extended and continued their support to help the flood victims. Foods and relief supplies have been distributed continuously. The damage assessment is still being conducted. As of now, the cost of assistance has reached 5 million pesos (USD 100,500).
