The municipality of El Nido, Palawan has been placed under a state of calamity after 8 barangays were inundated due to the non-stop rain, last 28 July 2018. One day after, on 29 July 2018, Philippines Information Agency - Mimaropa released that The entire province of Occidental Mindoro was placed under state of calamity last week after massive flooding inundated 11 municipalities including the capital town of Mamburao. The PDRRMO and all the MDRRMCs are on top of the evacuations, rescue and relief operations in close coordination with the RDRRMO-OCD Mimaropa which already put up a satellite office in the province. Landslides were reported to have occurred along the national highway and in some barangays, injuring 1 person and cutting the means of transportation across the town. Families and stranded tourists were evacuated safely, with some being able to return to their houses the following day.
