(Data as of September 29th , 2026) Due to heavy rainfall associated with a strong low-pressure area, flooding occurred in six townships of Tanintharyi Region: Bokepyin, Dawei, Thayetchaung, Launglon, Palaw, and Yebyu.(a)        Disaster SituationAffected Townships: 6 Nos.Evacuation Centres: 13 Nos.Affected People: 19,158 personsAffected Houses: 2,596 Nos.Affected Households: 1,703 Nos.Affected Schools: 56 Nos.Totally Destroyed Households: 14 households(b)        The situation requires continued monitoring, particularly in low-lying areas and communities near rivers and streams, as further heavy rainfall may cause additional flooding. Humanitarian assistance has been initiated and is being continuously provided to the affected people in the impacted areas.
