Description

Heavy rainfall and riverbank erosion on the night of 30 July caused a breach in the Ngawun River embankment in Laymyethna Township, Ayeyawady Region, resulting in flooding in five urban wards, major roads in the town and 150 surrounding villages. The flood information are as follows.



(a) Disaster Situation

- Affected Township - Laymyethna, Yegyi, Kyonpyaw, Hinthada

- Affected places - 5 Wards and 150 Villages

- Affected Houses - 10.4 K

- Affected Households - 10.5 K

- Affected Population - 46.3 K

- Evacuation Camps - 17 Nos.



(b) The distribution of Humanitarian Assistance for the affected people has been initiated.
