Description

Meteorology Office of Malaysia released a strong wind and storm warning on 4 September 2018, before it made landfall in Kuala Trengganu. Although it lasted just five minutes, a powerful storm damaged nearly 600 houses, wrecked several vehicles and uprooted dozens of trees. Kampung Bukit Tunggal in Kuala Nerus was worst hit by the 4.30pm storm, with the roofs of 500 houses damaged and several schools badly affected. There were no casualties reported due to this incident. The Civil Defence Force (APM) also received 30 reports of trees uprooted by strong winds in the area. Other districts affected by the storm were Kemaman, Marang, Dungun, Hulu Terengganu, Setiu and Besut. In the state capital, the worst affected areas were Kg Pulau Musang, Kg Paloh, Sungai Kiat, Kg Baru Tetambah, Kg Merbau Patah, Kg Pulau Rusa, Kg Banggol Tuan Muda, Kg Pasir Panjang, Bukit Bayas, Kg Kubang Jela, Kg Kebor Air, Bukit Besar, Jalan Pusara, Lorong Taman Jaya, Kg Banggol Peradong, Kampung Telari, Banggol Tok Esah, Taman Manir Indah, Kampung Kubang Parit, Taman Nuri, Durian Burung and Kuala Bekah.
