National Disaster Management Agency (NADMA) of Malaysia reported flood in Penampang, Sabah, on 1 June 2018 0800 hrs (UTC+8) due to heavy rainfall, which overflow Moyog River.
At least 50 villages in Kota Kinabalu, Tuaran, Papar, Putatan and Kota Belud were inundated. Initial estimation suggests the affected population reached a thousand of people. NADMA released that 57 people have been displaced.
State Government and Malaysia Relief Agency have started to provide assistance and relief items to affected population.
