Description

After battered by heavy rain, flash flood hit Ranau, Kota Belud and Sipitang, Sabah State. In Kota Belud, the flash flood was reported to have damaged several houses on Tuesday. Strong wind also ripped off signboards. Several roads in Kampung Lingkodon village was impassable. The flood also affected Kampung Saduk-Saduk village. As of now, the damage assessment is ongoing. The local Civil Defence Department is monitoring the flood development. Meanwhile, widespread inundation was reported to have affected several villages in Ranau and Sipitang City, Sabah State. In Sipitang, the Fire and Rescue Department evacuated 46 families or 127 people due to the flood. Meanwhile in Penang Island, one person was reportedly to have died due to flash flood. The local authority has responded the situation by monitoring the situation. The damage assessment is still being conducted.
