Description
Local media reported the storm started to gather speed at about 3pm on Friday and lasted for about an hour. Area affected is Kaysone Phomvihane district Savannakhet province About 579 houses in Phonsavan, Saphan Tai, Saymoungkhoun, Latsavong, Sayaphoume, Lattanalangsy Tai, Tha Hae and Lattanalangsy Neua were damaged and many homes in the town centre are still without electricity. It also damaged 30 electricity poles and falling trees brought down power lines in about 100 places. Government offices, hospitals, the sports stadium and some hotels also suffered the effects of the storm. Electricians are working to restore power and workers are removing uprooted trees from roads. The cost of damage was more than 75,000 USD.
