Description
In South Sumatra Province, precisely in Musi Banyuasin Regency. Floods hit Peninggalan Village, Tungkal Jaya District, due to the overflowing of the Tungkal River and Pangkalan Tungkal River in the early hours of Tuesday (8/4). As many as 60 families were affected with their houses submerged in water that has not yet receded. Some residents are staying in stilt houses, while others have fled to relatives' homes. The Musi Banyuasin Regency BPBD has deployed a team for intensive monitoring and damage data collection, as well as coordinating evacuations if conditions worsen. Access to the eastern Sumatra cross-country road was also affected, and a one-lane system was implemented for the safety of road users.
