Indonesia, Flooding in Ternate City (North Maluku)

According to BNPB report:

Flood in Ternate City, North Maluku Province

The flood was triggered by extreme weather in the form of heavy rain that hit the Ternate City area since Sunday (30/3) afternoon.

The two sub-districts affected by the flood are South Ternate Sub-district, specifically in Sasa Village, and Pulau Ternate Sub-district, which includes Jambula, Kastela, Rua, and Gambesi Sub-districts.

One person named Ari Rajeb (35 years old) suffered serious injuries and was rushed to Hasan Boesoiri Ternate Regional Hospital. Meanwhile, 82 other people were affected. Some residents took refuge in the homes of relatives and family and some residents of Kastela Village took refuge in a multi-purpose building owned by the Kastela Village Government.

This flood caused material losses in the form of 46 affected houses, seven boarding houses affected, and one embankment severely damaged.

The government through the Ternate City BPBD has conducted a rapid assessment, coordinated with related agencies, and distributed aid in the form of folding mattresses and family kits for affected residents
